If just seeing the glint in the eyes of a furry, little critter makes your heart explode or the majesty of the ocean leaves you in awe, you may be an animal lover. There’s a lot going on in the world though, especially in the world of animal rights and welfare, and even if you are skeptical, there are always ways that you can get involved. Organizations in your area, nationally, and around the world are ready and waiting for your time or donations. Here are a few of the best ones around that could use your help to fund their missions today.

1. The World Wildlife Fund
With its iconic panda bear logo, this animal charity is a favorite all over the world. The World Wildlife Fund, founded in 1995, is famous for its campaigns to save the rarest and most endangered species on the planet particularly now with its six-pronged approach that targets the forest, the ocean, freshwater, food, and climate change in order to preserve our biodiversity. Keeping our animals unique and thriving is what motivates this organization, but explore them more to find out what else they are doing for our ecosystems.

2. The ASPCA
They have done this longer than anyone else in the United States, with a founding year of 1866, this animal welfare organization definitely knows what they are doing. Over the course of their lifetime, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has served hundreds of thousands of animals through its tenure. Some of its services includes spay-neuter programs, poison-control assistance for pet parents at home, and so much more. If you’re looking for a place you know you can trust, look no further than the ASPCA to put your faith into.

3. Oceana
If your heart belongs to the creatures beneath the Earth’s oceans, this is the organization you will want to investigate further. Oceana has been the voice for marine life since 1999 when they discovered that less than 1% of environmental non-profit funds went towards saving our oceans. This has changed significantly since then, but we still have a long way to go. Only 4% of the vast oceans remains untouched in some way by human activity, but you can help restore it by giving to and investing your time in Oceana.
